New library website offers easy access to resources and information
The David Glenn Hunt Memorial Library at Galveston College recently launched an exciting new website that offers streamlined access to content and an improved user experience for students, faculty, staff and the community.
Telishia “Tee” Mickens, director of library and learning resources, worked during the summer to completely redesign the site with a fresh look and easy access to library resources such as databases, help and research guides, and library services, including online study room reservations and chat-with-a-librarian and text-a-librarian features.
The faculty page includes information on library instruction, information literacy, LibGuides, embedding library resources, course reserves, a book purchase request form, interlibrary loans (ILLs), library spaces for instruction, copyright, open educational resources (OERS) and more.
The site also includes a list of frequently asked questions that is updated on a regular basis.
“I know this will be such a great tool for our students to help them be successful in finding library resources and learning more about the library and the valuable resources available to them,” Mickens said.
